Badge removal techniques?

I'm trying to remove the front badge on my old school steel frame, but this thing looks like it's held in by rivets or something. I don't want to destroy the thing, but I'm at a loss for things to try.

You have a couple options. You can carefully drill out the rivets, or you can take apart the front end of the bike and grind the internal part of the rivet away (again carefully) with a Dremel tool (you'd probably need the flex shaft attachment)

...and you'll be left woth two small holes in the headtube. Only remove the badge if you have something to put in its place. I'd drill the rivets from the front nice and slow.

To paint it. This thing is has been so abused over the years that it's time for some good lovin'. I don't want to do some ****ty job where I try to paint around it. If I can get it off without destroying it, well then I can always put it right back on.
