Derailleur question!?
Id like to have the Deore LX front derailleur instead of my acera, but it says on their site that its" Rear Compatibility 9-speed" and I have an 8 sp. Will it still work lol? If not, what's a good 8sp front derail? It also says that the "Top Gear Teeth 44T" is that. Would a 42 work also? Same applies for a rear derail. Thanks!

Yes it will work just fine. My son is riding an 8spd XT set-up and is using the newer LX front and has no problems. It shifts great.
