campy + shimano compatibility

I want to run downtube shifters on my shimano 105 derailleurs. If I'm running on friction, is there any major problem with campy levers and shimano derailleurs?

Friction shifters are the most forgiving things available. You can mix and match components and speeds to you heart's content.
