One year today.

*A moment of silent riding for sydney and all others who have died on the roads this year*

**** Old Thread I know *****

I read an article about texting and driving and I couldn't help but think about sydney. I wonder what he would have to say about some of today's topics

I haven't been on this forum very long and lurk more than I post. I'm happy that you bumped this old thread, but sad about what happened to sydney. I never knew sydney but it was an eye opener reading the first couple of pages. Without the bump, I'd have likely never seen it. Thanks.

I see I'm not the only one who thinks of sydney this time of the year.

The article & video is still up.

RIP, sir, and warm thoughts to his family and loved ones.

Thanks for the reminder. Sidney was an active member here when I first joined the forum. Gruff, sarcastic, didn't suffer fools lightly and extremely knowledgable and helpful. He is still missed.

Sidney sounded like another member here...

I don't know if this was mentioned previously but The Ride of Silence is exactly the vehicle to memorialize riders like Sidney. Here's the website link.
::Ride of Silence:: Home - '0 words spoken - A million powerful memories"
I've organized the Rochester event for the last 5 years and still find it a moving experience. Each year we add more names to our list of those who need remembering, sad. Andy.

Not only this forum, he was very active on at least 3 other forums but used different aliases, rustycogs and Biker Billy were also the man known here as sydney. He helped a lot of cyclists and kept us entertained as well.
