Rear Derailleur Hanger

I am in the process of building a X-country race bike, based on a 1999 Gary Fisher Pro Caliber frame.
It needs a rear derailleur hanger and I am having trouble finding one. Any help out there?

Any shop dealing with one of the Trek lines should be able to get you one, plus any shop that can get 'em from wheelsmfg.com. Just need to find your hanger on there and they'll order it up for you, usually cheaper than the online hanger places.

Take the old one off if yo go into a shop, they will have outlines of them in the cataog, makes for easier matching than doing it by the name on the bike.

You can always try these guys, too:

That dotcom is pretty pricy, $7 over Giants retail for their hangers. Plus shipping?

Well, if you can't find it anywhere else, then at least it's an option. Right? I just spent two days looking for a component that was common and cheap six months ago and now I ended up paying $20 more than I could have had it then. It's a changing market.

I'm not disagreeing with your observation. I'm just pointing out that you don't always have a choice and sometimes you have to take what you can get.
