hi all,
I have just bought a second hand avalanche 2.0. I don't know the first thing about these bikes, but i just liked the look of it.
I have noticed however that the forks appear to have some freeplay in them before the suspension kicks in.
Is this right, or is there something I need to tighten?
Many Thanks!

Your headset might be loose, then again it might not. On your stem (the thing that holds on to the fork's steertube and then the handlebar) looseen the 2 or 3 bolts on the sides. They hold on to your fork. Then after they are loosen, tighten the bolt on the top of the stem. After that is tight, tighten back up the bolts on the side, then loosen the top bolt just a tad. This will compress your headset, which might be making it have some play.
Give that a shot.
Give that a shot.

Do you mean MX Comp? It's difficult to understand exactly what you are describing but I can think of two things that it could be. If the initial part of the travel feels soft then you might just need to increase the air pressure. If what you are feeling is a flexing or shifting then you might have a bushing problem in which case you would need to have it serviced.
