1974 Miyata Star - ????

I think I'm ready for a project bike--something to convert into either a fixie or a s/s.

I came across this one, not far from me:

http://sandiego.craigslist.org/bik/121302672.html

Original owner. Turns out the guy has a side business restoring and re-selling vintage Corvettes, so it's likely the bike's in pretty good shape.

Anybody know anything about this bike?? Might it be a good starting place for such a project (if price works and size is appropriate)? Anybody think there any whammies in store, like obsolete BB threading/shell size, oddball steering tube for which only the OEM headset will work ... or anything of that nature ... or just that the asking price is way to high to scrap the components and turn it into a fixie or s/s?

I'd be grateful for any advice on this one....

Might poke your head in to the Classic & Vintage forums and ask. I'm not very well versed in Miyatas but by the looks of it she appears to be a nice frame. I know some of the guys over there should be able to give you a lot more info.
