Is it possible to configure a 55x39 combo?
I realize that it's a 16 tooth gap, but I noticed that this be can done on compacts 50-34? Long cage front derailleur maybe?
My crankset is Campy Record Aluminum.

Not quite the same, but I am running a 56x42 which makes a 14 tooth gap and it works fine for the most part. The main issue I have is that downshifting has a mind of its own; it always happens, but on its own schedule.

Yep - ya can do it. You might need a bumper on the frame side to keep the chain from overshooting the small ring...

What is the range on the cogset? You need to make sure that the RD is matched to the chain pickup required.
