Swapped triple, now it's finicky...
I swapped an Ulltegra triple group (everything) from one bike to another. Now, the triple doesn't want to drop from the middle ring to the small one, and sometimes the chain passes the small ring onto the frame. The triple is only a year old (2K mi.). I'm mystified. Any ideas?
PS: The height is correct, the cable tension is taunt when on the small ring, it shifts onto the big ring without any a problem, and if I simple pull on the cable if feels free.

In addition to setting the limit screws correctly you may have a bit too much tension on the cable.
How old are the cables and housings? That could also account for the downshift hesitation.

You said "the cable tension is taunt when on the small ring". Maybe it's too tight. The derailleur position on the granny ring should be defined by the limit screw.
Also, seriously consider fitting a chain watcher. That way you can have a solid shift to the granny without the danger of spilling the chain inside.
