Question About a Dent in Columbus Genius
I cry as I type this ... My brand new (NOS) Coppi frame made of Columbus Genius took a bail into the edge of my coffee table late yesterday afternoon. It hit the edge of the table with the left seat stay near the brake bridge, the resulting dent (no paint chipped) is about <1/16" deep ... So, should I be concerned about this or consider it to be an unfortunate bit of customization?

HAHA ... thanks. I rode to work today ... not on that bike. I hope it doesn't affect it; still really has steamed though. Thanks capwater, got it covered on the 'Gansett's.

As my dad told me after my first little dent in the family car so many years ago, "So, you're no longer a virgin..."

Dent. Not to worry . A small dent in a steel frame isn't anything to worry about especially where it occurred. Just enjoy your bike. No one will ever notice it but you.
Columbus Genius tubing was first produced in 1991 or 1992. It was it was some of the first shaped butted tubing. It is a Nivachrom steel which is a very good alloy. One of my bikes is an Ionic (2000) made with Columbus Foco tubing. Light and very strong. I probably would take a 16# sledge to the coffee table just to feel better...!
Spinbackle is right on the tubing.
