Shimano octalink V1

I have a new/old boxed PZ Racing CR2.1 White Carbon 53/39 Chainset that i would like to put on my road bike. The problem is the crank requires a shimano octalink V1 bottom bracket . Can i still get theses bottom brackets if so what would be the best one? I have a shimano dura ace Fc7800 52/39 crank on my bike now.

any help would be most appreciated

Thanks

This is what you're after.

If you want the Dura Ace unit, that's about the best price on the flavour you need. Watch out for the (BB-7703?) triple unit, which is cheaper due to lower demand, and the much cheaper track BB, which shares the BB-7700 model number I think, but has no seals.

This is pretty trick unit, with rollers as well as balls due to the constricted space, but apparently the seals weren't up to much so it'll need maintenance whenever it gets gritty or it'll die.

Folks recommend the cheaper ones, but I bought a BB-7700 for my FC-7700 arms anyway, I don't mind a bit of occasional maintenance.

Other than the links Kimmo provided, the only other V1 Octalink still readily available is the 105 level BB-5500. This is a completely sealed unit and requires (and can have) no maintenance. Here is one source:

https://www.amazon.com/Shimano-BB-550...himano+BB-5500

Octalink V1's come in two spindle lengths, 109 mm for double cranks and 118 mm for triple cranks.

Yeah, I know about those but the OP was describing a road crank so the XTR versions weren't a consideration

Thanks for all the info. just ordered the D/A 7700 bottom bracket from wiggle. Does anybody know if the bottom brackets come with the crank arm fixing bolts.

They don't. The bolts come with the crank.
