Just bought a used road bike, it has a Cinelli quill stem, 26mm clamp diameter http://www.cinelli.it/eng/bici/attacchi/classici/
and a BBB bar, don't know exactly which, but it's alloy. The only bars I see on the BBB site are 26mm or oversize. I removed the bars to unjam the stem and adjust the height but now I can't seem to adequately tighten the clamp to stop the bars rotating in the clamp.
I measured the clamp area of the bar with calipers and came up with various measurements in the 25.7mm to 25.8mm range, but it definitely had 26 in the factory markings.
Should I shim the bar to get it to clamp properly, or is there some other trick.

Degrease the clamp interior and the bar collar area and tighten the H-bar clamp to about 90 to 100 inch-pounds. I've also spread a thin layer of blue Loctite into the interface to help hold the bars while stopping squeeks
