SKS mudguards
Er... not exactly mechanics, but I've bought some SKS mudguards for my mountain bike and there are no instructions for fitting. I'm embarrassed to say it, but I can't figure out how the stays fit. Two pairs are plain and two have a black clip or something fitted over the bottom of the V. Huh? Also, there's a tiny bag of bits which presumably enable you to screw the stays onto the frame, but how? Can anyone point me in the direction of a website which shows close ups of these things fitted, or even some instructions? This is ridiculous...

The stays screw into the mudguard eyes, with the ones with the black block going on the fork (the block is designed to release the stay if you pick up a branch or the like).
The bridge support for the guard fits through the hole at the top of your forks or on the seat stay bridge (if there is a hole there). If you don't have fitting holes then could be an awkward fit. if you don't have mudguard eyelets, you can fit to forks and stays with "P" clips.

Talking about the full-length chromoplastic fenders, the SKS fitting for the rear chainstay bridge is pretty crappy and I couldnt make it work. I took someones advice and fixed it using a zip-tie. The other nuts and botls do the trick. It really helps if your frame has threaded eyelets by the dropouts.
