I think this was posted in the road forum awhile back. Pretty cool, yes. It's also interesting to get this sense of inevitable progress-through-industry that was rhetorically widespread at the time. The world wars largely undercut this sort of (now called naive) optimism in Europe, but the U.S. kept its belief in a nifty universe until the Vietnam war. Now we've got irony. Can you imagine this sort of tone being used in a documentary video nowadays, for any reason but self-conscious spoof?

The muzak in the background is my favorite. Can you believe the hand-painting of pinstripes on the fenders and frame? I'll bet those bikes in good condition are worth a pretty penny in the collectors market.
