Replacing M952 XTR Rear Derailleur Axle Assembly?
Howdy all! New user with a problem (go figure).
I have a brand new Shimano M952 XTR rear derailleur that I picked up MINUS the axle assembly. This assembly consists of the mounting bolt, the tension spring, the "angle of the dangle" adjustment screw and plate, a snap ring, an o-ring and a plastic seal. I ordered the assembly from Shimano (part #Y5TM98010) and am attempting to install it but have a question.
My problem is with putting everything together properly. The tension spring has pins on each end - one goes into a hole in the derailleur housing and the other into a hole in the "angle of the dangle" screw plate. However, when I line the pins up in their respective holes and put it all together the screw plate is in the wrong position. I suppose it has to be turned with the spring pins in their holes to add tension to the assembly, but I'm not sure and I don't know how to do it. If anyone has any suggestions (or even the faintest idea of what I'm talking about) I'd sure appreciate hearing them. Thanks in advance for any assistance!
