SID brake post threading
I want to install the V-brake posts on a '00 rockshox sid that, prior to this, solely used disc brakes. Dirt and grime has collected in the threads of the sockets and posts. I've heard that I can use a matching tap to clean out the threads, however I cant seem to find the specs on the threading pitch anywhere.
Can anyone help me with this? Or do any of you know a good alternate method of getting these nice and clean?
Thanks in advance,
Brian

The bolts that fasten the brakes to the bosses are M6 x 1mm.
This is a good example of why I always stick a well-greased bolt into any threaded hole, even if the bolt's not holding anything on.

It's not the bolts that fasten the brakes to the bosses; It's the brake bosses themselves which I need to install. They're removeable on SIDs, for weight/ asthetic reason I suppose.

I'm pretty sure the thread pitch is M8x1.25
If you're going to buy a tap, take the brake boss along with you to match up the threads.
