the best mechanic in the world

hi guys,
Eddy Merckx always says to everybody that Paolino Colnago, Ernesto's brother, was the best and fastest mechanic in the world. Any suggestion???

I don't know. The last time Paolino worked on one of my bikes he seemed a little slow.

It's me................! Because I don't charge myself a dime for fixing my bike! LMAO! I guess that would be a hard question to answer, maybe we need to have a mechanic's bike off. Do a total build from ground up and time them and then check for how well it was done!

We'll need to define "best".

Is it best problem solver? The one who can store and retreive the most information from his/her brain? The fastest? The one who can do the widest variety of repairs? Or the one who can pick things up the quickest(aptitude)? My favorite, the mechanic who can locate the necessary info. as quickly as possible using whatever source they want, i-net, memory, manuals, friends, etc. The mechanic who can actually relate to people(ha ha)?! Maybe the one who can wrench the longest. 24hr endurance wrench fests? Hmmm.

Actually, without getting too serious, it is an interesting discussion. What does make a mechanic a "good" mechanic?

He likely meant "best race mechanic".
