Want to upgrade 80's Torpado Beta
I recently bought an 80's 12spd Torpado Beta. I'd like to upgrade the components as they are somewhat shoddy.
My first upgrade was buying a Campagnolo Chorus crankset from 1994. The crank length is 170mm, chainrings are 53/39 and they have 135 bcd spacing. Will these work with a Campagnolo 980 front and rear derailleur and friction shifters? Or do I need to go about purchasing a new rear derailleur and upgrade my 6 spd freewheel to a 7 or 8?

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

Friction shifters will work with about anything and the old derailleurs should work fine with them and the new crank. I assume the crank is an 8-speed so any 7/8-speed chain should also work.
