Shimano IG60 and replacement chain question
The IG60 7 speed cassette on my all-purpose commuter bike was damaged during the winter riding. Two teeth on one of the cogs broke off. I plan to replace it with a new IG60, but I'm wondering about the chain. My current chain has about 2000km on it and so I'll change it at the same time. The IG60 requires an IG chain only.
My question: I see there is an "IG compatible" chain out there called the KMC Z72 "IG compatible" with 100 links. Can I really use this instead of the more expensive Shimano IG chain? If so, do I need to worry about the number of links in it, or should it be good to go as is.
thanks!

You always have to adjust the amount of links. No chains, Shimano or other, are the right length out of the box.
For sizing, either count the links on your existing one, or go the the Park Tools website. They have the procedure there.
