Tri- Flow lube

I just picked up a bottle of Tri- Flow dry lubricant with teflon. Has anyone used this lube? How often should I be lubing my chain? Is it a good lube?

There are few topics that will generate more strongly held and diverse opinions than what chain lube to use. I think that I've got Pro-Link in my lube bottle right now but I'll use just about anything that is designed for use on a bike chain. Tri-Flow suits me just fine.

It's almost impossible not to put too much lube onto your chain. The excess does nothing good but it will attract dirt and grit and eventually give you a nice chain tattoo on your leg. I put the tiniest drop of lube that I can manage on each link. Then I let it set overnight and do my best to wipe the chain clean with a rag the next morning. I'll probably go 300 to 400 miles between chain lubeings unless I either get caught in the rain or hear the chain start to make noise.

lube tatoo

Yeah I'm thinking of getting that chain pattern ACTUALLY Tatooed on the back of my left calf.

I like pro-link too, but the teflon stuff will work just fine. and like the man said it's hard not to put too much on, ESPECIALLY when it comes out in force like triflow does (if you bought a presurized can). But then just wipe off the excess, then wipe it off again, then wipe it off again.

My favorite lube; I like the way it smells.
