headshok fatty repair - from 1995-1996 F1000
my headshok blew out and will no longer hold air.
i brought it to be serviced and the shop planned to send it back to cannondale to get fixed.
however, cannondale apparenlty will no longer service the shock.
i have the option of trading in my fork for a new one....$370.
i really don't want a new one. i want my old shock. really i just want the same fork.
as sad as it may seem i bought the bike because it had a nice aesthetic.
it's fun to ride too, but i like the way it looks just hanging in my place as well.
i realize the headshok isn't the greatest shock in the world but it generally works just fine for me.
anyway, my question:
1> anyone know where i can get the fork serviced?
i'm in boston, a but will travel or ship it as needed.
i'm also in the market to just buy a used headshok and steal the parts or if it's the unpainted aluminum then just swap it out.
granted the bike is old, but this lack of service will certainly make me think twice about buying another cannondale.
my bike is essentially this one, but with gripshifters.
