Slight knocking/creaking - in 2 smallest cogs - geared drivetrain

Minor but frustrating issue:

Note that this is a road bike with a 3 x 9 speed Shimano drivetrain, and the bike & drivetrain are only 2 months old.

Faint knocking noises from drivetrain when under load. Occuring only in two smallest cogs, and most often when in largest chainring (that is...when in hardest gears). The knocking is not super regular - not timed evenly with each pedal revolution. Can also feel the knocking even when the wind blocks the sound.

Have re-installed front end of drivetrain (BB, Cranks, chainrings) and cleaned and closely examined chain. No issues with this stuff. Wondering if it's something to do with the cassette/cogs and or rear hub. Shimano rear hub has no play in it and is smooth off the bike.

Any ideas??
