    Alt. Trailer Hook-up

What is the best way to apply a weldless hook-up for a trailer. I have a OneStep trailer, but the attachment to the bike is broken. Does anyone have an alt. way to hook it up to the bike. Does it have to be hooked up to the axle or can it be hooked up the the seat stays.

I did a quick search and didn't find anything on the OneStep trailer, so I'll leave you with a few educated guesses.

First of all, your trailer will need to either be hooked up to the axle or the chainstay. Both are possible, but unless you have very short feet or want to pedal with heels outside, you won't like hooking the trailer to the chainstay.

In terms of hitches, Chariot Carriers sells the EZ-hitch separately, to either repair or upgrade older trailers. The complete upgrade includes the plastic "ball" that installs on the trailer arm, the receiver hitch and the required pins + safety straps. Check also with Wike; they sell their own model of receiver hitch, and maybe the plastic insert, so you may get a complete hitch that way.

Both these options require some compatibility checks and maybe some fiddling, but if the arm is fairly similar to either of these, you should get away with a large screwdriver, 2 wrenches, and maybe a file or some shim material.

I also seached and didn't find this brand/model. Are you sure it's not an InStep? (www.instep.net)
