Canti vs V brake pins
Recently someone told me that there was a difference between forks that have pins for v-brakes and forks that have pins for cantilever brakes. He said that you can put v-brakes on canti pins, but canti's wont work on v-brake mounts. Is this true? Is this the same for rear brake pins as well?
Thanks!

Typically this is mounted on the headset, but if you have a suspension fork it has to be mounted on the bridge that connects the two sliders, so that the housing stop moves along with the cantilevers mounted on the sliders.

Thanks a lot for the information!
That makes sense. It's funny, I was given that advice when looking for a rigid mountain bike fork, go figure.
