7400 dura ace 112mm BB & 7410 double crankset, compatibility or not tight enough

I have a 7400 dura ace english BB, 112mm long. When I installed it with a 7410 double crankset,
the drive side seems to be sticking out a bit that the front derailluer isn't able to get to be big crank, even
after tightening the crank bolt. The non-drive side (left) is fine.

Is it a compatibility problem or the crank bolt isn't tight enough? I put some grease on the threads
already. The allen wrench doesn't have too much leverage. Don't know if that's the reason.
    Please give me some tips.

    thanks.

The 7410 crankset uses a 102mm bottom bracket, so the 112 you're using would definitely be too long. Unfortunately, the only Shimano taper bottom bracket I can think of that comes in a 102 is the Dura Ace, so you're pretty much committed to spending some money.

yes, thanks. I just browsed through sheldonbrown.com. 7410 is a special breed, 103mm length. The
only compatible BB is 7410. 7400 crankset is 112-113mm, compatible with my 7400 BB.
So either get a 7410 BB or get a 7400 crankset. yikes!!

Yeah, the older 7400 crankset wasn't nearly as low-profile as the sleeker 7410. I didn't know it used a bottom bracket that was 10mm longer though. That's a lot.

You're right that the 7410 needs 103mm and not 102mm. I think Campy Record uses a 102mm bottom bracket, which is the shortest one I can think of.
