Front wheel seems out of balance

Purchased a Trek 2.1 last week, to make a long story short, when picking up speed going down hill my front wheel starts to shake, almost to the point of crashing. Took it back to where I purchased it, the
mechanic took the reflectors off the spokes, moved the mag opposite the stem. Took it back out and it
helped but did not completely solve the problem. Does any one have any suggestions as to what I
    can do?

If you search the forum archives here and elsewhere you'll find a lot of information and speculation about the kind of oscillation you are experiencing. Some bikes do it and others don't. Bending your elbows and relaxing your arms may help.

Check the headset for tightness, check that headset cups aren't loose in frame, check wheel bearings, check spoke tension, check for frame cracks anywhere on the bike, especially the fork, check that front qr is tight.

Wheels might need the circumference trued. Also look the tires over thoroughly. Also, as San Rensho said, check the headset.
