105 sti FD lever not ratcheting
when trying to change from small to large chainring, the derailleur moves easy enough but there is no 'click' fronm the sti lever and when released, the front der simply drops back to the small chainring again. Any ideas please? Is the sti lever U/S?

Sounds to me like it is broken. I had this happen to me. I took it to the neighborhood bike shop (I didn't buy it there, I bought it mail-order) and it was sent back to Shimano for warranty replacement. No receipt or anything. Shimano returned (no charge) a new shifter with 2 new cables.
