Shimano/Campy BB and crank

Will a Campy Veloce square taper crank properly fit a Shimano 105 Square taper BB? Are the tapers the same length and degree of taper?

NO, Campy AC-H BB's are so cheap that there is no reason not to use one. By forcing the different length tapered BB into the Veloce crank you will ruin the crank. The chain line will be messed up also. The JIS taper will make the crank arms stick out too far and not have enough clamping power. This is a very bad idea that has been discussed on many occasions.

The degree of taper (2°) is the same for JIS (Shimano and most others) and ISO (Campy mostly) spindles but the starting dimension is not. ISO tapers start at a slightly smaller width. However, the manufacturing tolerances in the bb and cranks often allow them to be used interchanably if the demands aren't too high.

Theoretically, it's a bad idea. Practically, it often works ok. That said, buy the right bb.

Not a particularly hard decision either given that said bb is $10 shipped.
