Bike too big, should i sell it?

Hi, i got a rockhopper hardtail 21inch a while back and since i have had it i think it may be a little too big. I am 6ft. I lean heavily on the handle bars which makes the palms of my hands sore after a ride and there is only about 1 or 2 inches of stand over hight. Is ther anything i can do to make the bike more comfortable to ride or should i just sell it and get a smaller one? I also have a fsr xc medium and that feels like the perfect size. What is medium size in inches?

Get out your tape and measure the top tube and seat tube on the bike that fits. A 21 inch seat on the Specialized probably has a real long top tube. I think 1-2 inches on a MTB isn't enough clearance. Good luck.
