Chain Issues

For some odd reason whenever I shift my left gear up to three when the chain switches it moves too far and goes over the third gear wheel (sorry I dont know the proper name for the part) and falls off. Can anyone help me?

You need to adjust the limit screw on your front derailleur. There are two screws, one with a + and one with a -. Screw in the + screw so that you can just shift to the largest chainring.
