pecular sound in pedals while in certain gears
My 6 speed mtb have peculiar sound in pedals while i shift in to the 2nd gear(the second biggest sopke) and in to the 6th gear(the samllest spoke). I could also feel the friction in pedals while i am in these gears. Can any one to help sort out this problem? Thanks in advance.

Did the chain rub against the front derailler? Sounds like you need to make some adjustments on the deraillers.

Have you ever changed the chain?? What gears have you been usually using? What about the impact of the front derailleur? Your chain and middle sprockets might be worn, but in this match, while your outer sprockets might be in a better shape but then not match the chain.

First, adjust the cable tension to get the 2nd sprocket working properly, while not worsening the other inner gears. Then adjust the limit screw to get the 6th sprocket working properly. It would be best, if you could do these adjustments with the rear wheel lifted off the ground, allowing you to watch changes in the position of the derailleur and the path of the chain in operation.
