Back Tire Mobility Blackouts while Riding

Hi there! This is my first visit to BikeForums, and it looks like a promising place, here. I'll call it my new home

So I recently just bought a new BMX a few weeks ago, and I didn't hesitate to start hitting jumps. Unfortunately, the price I paid for the bike wasn't worth it for all the problems I've been going through with it. Crap pedals, shoddy bolts and nuts, and a dented frame.

I managed to repair most of it, but then I got a new problem. Sometimes when I go riding down the road, I ride as fast as I can momentarily so I can just glide down the sidewalk when getting to where I want to go, and I pedal again when I need to pick up speed once more. Well, when I go to pedal again, my back tire won't spin any more than it did before. The chain's pulling the back-sprocket and everything, but it won't pull the tire. Just the sprocket spins. So of course when I stand up and start pedaling, it's like I'm going 90 miles an hour already, or so my chain thinks, and I end up jamming one of my pedals down and I go flying off my bike. The tire ceasing to move happens whenever I stop pedaling for a little while, but after I spin my pedals about 5 revolutions, my tire kicks back into gear again and starts moving.

What I did notice when I tested this, was that the little circular band underneath the back sprocket that pulls the tire was also spinning, so I can't find a solution here. My back tire's like a circulating current during a thunderstorm, going on and off.

When it comes to biking and hitting jumps, that's my specialty. Parts, I'm not so sure about. There's probably a simple solution to this, like moving the tire back or something, but I'm not sure if I should do it yet.

Any help with this issue would be great, and if you need more details, I can take pictures or video of the tire.

Thanks a ton!

I'm not too familiar with BMX freewheels, but it sounds like the freewheel pawls aren't engaging the part connected to the hub. I've not had this problem before, but what I generally see suggested is to try squirting a light lube into the freewheel as you spin it. Again, take this advice with a grain of salt, but I hope it helps.
