How to determine the chainline
Looking to replace my present Shimano 44-32-22 crank on my commuter bike. Would like install a double with 46/36 chainrings. The spec says the chainline is 43.5mm.
How do I determine if a chainline of 43.5mm will work on my bike? How do I determine chainline amount for my bicycle?

It means the Shimano wants the middle of the 2 chainings to be 43.5 mm from the side of the seat tube. The only way to adjust this is to change bottom brackets. Generally each crank recommends a specific spindle size of bottom bracket.
