Campy Group Mixing

I posted this in the Road forum but I didnt get responses, I should have posted here to begin with.

I am in the middle (maybe the end of the begging) of a new bike build. I am 90% sure I am going to be using Campy on this bike, and if that is the case I am 100% sure I am going to be using carbon levers (Chorus?) but other than that im open to mixing groups. Here is my question: what is the performance differnce between Veloce and Centaur and is it worth the price difference/weight saving?

I can't tell any performance difference between my Veloce and Centaur 10-speed cranksets.

Judging from finish and looks, the Centaur is magnificent.

I am in love with grey Centaur, but now I am wondering if I should wait untill the 07 Centaur comes out, because of the new crank and carbon levers. There are so many options. I really do love grey Centaur though, maybe it will be cheaper when the new stuff comes out.

I bought grey centaur because i got a spectacular price. The finish is lovely, and it looks great. Spares may become tricky later on. Ribble Cycles in the UK is selling the chainsets for silly money (under $80). Don't buy one before I get my spares though

I am using Daytona, what Centaur used to be called, and it functions very well. The weight difference between Veloce and Centaur is minimal. The fit & finish is much better on the Centaur though. IMO, buy the aluminum version now. In 2007 Centaur is being polluted by the cult of carbon. There are some really good deals on ebay for Centaur rear derailleurs and Veloce cranks. I've seen NIB Veloce cranks for $39.00 plus shipping. Good luck
