Tube question.............
I have been having flat problems and today I pulled the tire completely off the rim, put the tube on the rim and inflated it. Suprise.
The tube is larger than the rim. Considerably.
Why?

Tube
seely,
I understand that but shouldn't it be about the same diameter as the rim? The rim is a 700 and the tube looks like it about 3 inches larger than the rim, and that's uninflated.
Thanks for the reply.

If its old, its probably streched out some. I've noticed this with old tubes. Seems after many years in a tire they tend to stretch. Also, certain brands seem generously sized, such as Bontrager and Wrenchforce. For both those I generally run one width smaller than the tire calls for. However, with air in the tube and no tire I wouldn't be too surprised to see any tube run about 3" too big for the rim.
