Differences: QR20 and 20mm thru axle hubs

Ok, I'm having a bit of trouble here figure out the differences between the QR20 hubs and the 20mm thru axle hubs. Are the hubs the same, but use a different axle? As long as a person has the axle, will it matter what hub is used? I have searched online quite a bit, and I can't seem to find very much information on these. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

If a hub is designed for QR it will not accept a through axcel but a hub for a through axcel can be used with a QR. The QR is like any other qr but with a 20mm axcel. the Through axcel bolts on. If you use a 20mmQR on a hub designed for a through axcel you may have to buy an adaptor to get the qr to work. Marzocchi sells one.

Ok.. I have a dude that has a QR20 fork. I am to build him a wheel.. I was originally going with the Ritchey 20mm thru axle hub, but now I'm thinking it may be better to try to find a QR20 specific hub, right?

As far as I know you can use 20mm hubs in qr20 forks. At least with marzocchi ones. But I forget what you have to do to get it to work

As I said. You can use a 20mm through axcel hub on a qr. You will just have to get the adaptor. That way if he ever gets a fork that uses a through axcel he can use the same hub.

Now, on some 20mm qr hubs you can remove the inner portion to make it work on a through axcel but I would not recomend it.

What fork will it be going on?
