Hi,

I need to pump up the tyres on my bike but I just don't seem to be getting anywhere. I have a dual piston pump (Crank Brothers) and am using the correct valve attachment. I just don't seem to be attaching the valve properly. (The presta valve on my old bike was so much easier!) I tried to have a go on my good tyre but within 5 seconds of attaching the pump head I'd managed to empty all of the air

Am I pushing the pump too far onto the valve? Or not far enough?

Most Schraeder heads have a locking mechanism which clamps down on the valve. It's usually a lever of some sort. Place the head on only far enough to hear some air starting to escape, then engage the lock. Good luck

I have the same pump you have, and have never had any problems getting it to work on presta or schrader valves.

Are you getting a good, tight seal when you turn the little lever on the pump head that locks it to the valve?

Thanks guys, I've worked it out and managed to pump my tyres up.

I took another look at the pump for some way of locking it onto the valve. There's no lever or anything, you twist the shaft of the pump 90 degrees to the head once its in place. That locks it.

I've got the same pump and it took me a long time to figure that out...Actually come to think of it I never figured it out, rather somebody showed me.
