    Maillard freewheel

Hi have a nice old semi-road Peugeot. A spoke broke, so I need to remove the Freewheel, and I don't know wich tool I need.

It's about 30mm width and has 24slots (if I counted correctly). I attached a photo.

On other threads people where talking about the FR-4 and CT-3. I read that the CT-3 has the good width, however the shape seems strange (I have triangular and not squared slots).

Do you have any suggestion? Thank you

PS : I'm not native english speaker, sorry if I am not clear.

I don't know the specific model that you need, and it doesn't seem to be one of the ones that Park Tool makes unfortunately (browse them at Park Tool: http://parktool.com/products/category.asp?cat=4)

Are you in France? If so, a good LBS mechanic should know what tool is needed for older French parts such as this one. By the way, your English seems fine to me, much better than some of the native speakers on here

Sheldon Brown, I miss you. Thanks for the advice, ideas, humor, and infectious enthusiasm for everything bikes...

Ask the guys a Yellow Jersey, theres an email link at the bottom of this page
This is Africa, 1943. War spits out its violence overhead and the sandy graveyard swallows it up. Her name is King Nine, B-25, medium bomber, Twelfth Air Force. On a hot, still morning she took off from Tunisia to bomb the southern tip of Italy. An errant piece of flak tore a hole in a wing tank and, like a wounded bird, this is where she landed, not to return on this day, or any other day.

I removed one of those destructively last week because I couldn't find the correct tool. I had to remove the two smallest cogs to get to the freewheel bearing cone. Once the bearing cone was removed, I pulled the freewheel apart and watched the bearings scatter all over the shop. I drove the remaining part off with a punch and hammer and threw all of the pieces in the trash.

www.biketoolsetc.com has the tool you need. It's their part no. BR-CT3 - $8.95.
