Retrofitting KHS Monatan Fork

I bought my wife a KHS Montana for my wife. I have attached a photo for reference.

The Deets:
KHS MONTANA COMP MOUNTAIN BIKE - It has a CR-MO 16 inch frame with a
21 inch top tube and a 27.5 inch stand-over height. The wheels are 26
inch RITCHEY SPORTs. The tires could be replaced soon. The cranks are
SHIMANO DEORE. It has 21 Speeds and a RITCHEY LOGIC seat. The brakes
are DIA COMP and the Derailuers are DEORE DX. . The forks are KHS
CR-MO BUTTED. The frame reads TRUE TEMPER. Both wheels are quick
release.

The question:
Can I replace the forks to be retro fitted with suspension forks?

Please advise me of what options I could get with this bike in regards to an upgraded suspension.
