Bike newb needs a hand.
Hey, to start off I know almost nothing as far as bike mechanics go.
But when I'm peddling often it feels like the peddles skip, and make a loud clicking or popping noise.
Any ideas what's wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance,
Scagwald

I'm pretty new to biking, but it sounds like you are half-way between gears. When you change gears, the derailleur pushes the chain from one cog to the next. But if you don't shift completely, you get that weird skipping feeling and noise. Just shift a little bit up or down, and your ride should feel smooth again.

It probably has more to do with a kink in the chain, or possibly the amount of tension in the shift cable. There's probably nothing wrong with the actual shifter.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

I'm inclined to think that Bud has put you on the right track but it would help if you had given us a little information about both the problem and your bike. If it's a relatively new bike shop bike, take it back and let them fix it for you.
