Disk hubs strength
I'm a really bike guy looking to build up some strong wheels . I don't plan on using disks but might use cisk hubs. Does a wheel have to be dished to adjust for the extra width of the rotor flange and does this effect the strength? Thanks for the help.

yes a disc compatible hub does require the wheels be dished more. does it make them weaker ? well, yes, a tiny weeny bit. but unless your the roughest rider on the planet i doubt youll ever find out.

a clarification - it requires the front wheel to be dished. The rear wheel is also dished but typically LESS dished than a non-disc 135mm hub. So the spoke tension is more even.
