Changing campy cassettes
[Warning: total newbie question, so keep the eyerolling to a minimum.]
I have a wonderful 2002 Bianchi Veloce with a 13-26 cluster (9 speed), but my wimpy little legs need a 13-28. The cassette is a Campagnolo Veloce. My question - is it possible to replace it with one of the lower (or higher, depending how lucky I get) grade Campy brand clusters on there? E.g., is the sprocket spacing in all the groupsets the same or am I stuck with a Veloce cassette?
Actually, looking back now - it appears that the lowest end cluster available for a 9 speed IS the Veloce, so I should have rephrased that as "upgrading." I'm not really interested in going to a 10 speed unless it's about the same pricewise.
Many thanks in advance.
[Edited to correct cluster size and to clarify a bit... d'oh!]

I can't answer your cassette-compatibility question, but I've one other consideration to throw into the hopper: If you go to a larger cassette, will your derailleur have enough take-up capacity (or "chain-wrap" capacity) to work with the longer chain? I don't think that the three-tooth difference will overwhelm the derailleur, but it's a question worth asking of the experts here...

Right! Forgot to mention that, I'll take a look tonight - if it has the short cage I'll need to replace it, since it says that it only has a 26 cog/27 teeth chain wraparound...

As long as you are changing the whole cassette... yes (the Chorus and Record use paired gears for the larger cogs...). However, I have mid cage deraileurs on my 13-29's and I believe if you check w/ Campy's site that they say that you need a mid cage for the 13-29 + double, and a long cage for the 13-29 + triple...

Yes, I have a triple... not sure what size rear derailleur, meant to check last night but I'm guessing it's a mid based on what I remember.
