Reducing Travel on a Suspension Fork

is it possible to reduce the travel on a suspension fork? I've got a 03 Duke SL that I'd like to stick on an older bike and not change the handling too much. I read somewhere that it's possible by using some PVC spacers, but I don't recall exactly how it's done. Thanks.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

How old is the bike you're putting the fork on and did it come with a suspension fork? If that's the case you're probably only talking about an additional inch or so of travel and I wouldn't worry about it.

The spacer trick for reducing travel isn't going to do what you want because it will reduce the travel by keeping the fork extended. You'll have the slack head tube issue, which is what you're trying to avoid, all the time.

Bike is about 10 yrs old. The suspension fork it came with only had 63mm of travel. I think the axle crown length was about 405mm. The Duke I have measures around 450mm. I notice the difference.
