1995 Amp Research service kit

I have recently dusted down my steed from years gone by, and after a quick tweak and new tyres, all is working fine, except for the suspension.

The seals have gone on both the shock units, and they are need of a service. I'm waiting on a response back from Amp Research themselves, but I am also thinking about a replacment shock. I've been off the scene for about 5 years, so I need to know what is recommended for a heavyweight (230lb) cross country rider?

Any help would be great thanks!

You can still get parts for that parallelogram suspension?....I didn't realize they were still in business.

I'd say if you can't get parts direct from Amp Research, you're probably out of luck as far as rebuilding the original suspension components if the bike is a full suspension with the AR linkage suspension fork and AR rear shock; that's proprietary stuff, right?...........As for the front fork, if it's compatible with the bike, I'd try and find an old Marzocchi Z-2 (atom bomb, atom race, etc.) on ebay. They're very durable, and the rebuild kits are still available at Cambria Bicycle Outfitters I think. As for the rear shock, I don't know what would work on that bike other than the stock shock, you'd have to research it or ask AR. Good luck-

edit: out of curiosity, I checked Cambria's website, and they carry a few AMP suspension parts. It doesn't look like they've got what you need, but it makes me wonder if you could order other AMP parts through your LBS. Worth a try, anyway-
