I started having problems with a BB squeak on my truvativ rouleur carbon about 500 mi.
I tightened the self extracting bolt a couple of times and then had a shop tighten the non-drive side bearing caps. Still the sound persisted. The shop said that I should take the crank off and tighten the drive side bearing cap. I tugged and whaled on the self extracting bolt and couldn't move it. Then I pulled out the retainer bolt 5/8" hex and then removed the self extracting bolt. I then thought I could tap the crank out with an socket. No luck. Now I have damaged the threads on the crank, and when trying to reinstall the self extracting bolt to give it another go the threads are getting damaged, which doesn't give me any confidence that the second attempt at self extracting will be any more fruitful.
1) Is there another crank puller out there that could do the job
2) Is there a tap and die set that can allow me to repair the threads on the crank and self extracting bolt
(it seams that the typical metric tap and dies go to at 14mm wide with 1.5mm threads and 15m with 1.5mm, where as the self extracting bolt seems to be 1 thread per mm)
3) Is there a place to by another self extracting bolt.

Looking for some help.

This may be something that you don't want to hear right now, but are you sure it's not your shoe cleats squeaking? Try tightening the screws.

"Yes" to all three of your questions. But at this point I'd take it to your LBS.

I am confident that the squeaking is not a shoe, I have used different pedals, shoes etc.

According to best available info the Rouleur walks off frequently and such tightening is necessary, and if the tightening is at every 500 mi I can't be having the bike in the shop that frequently.

I am hoping to get a hold of the tools to make this doable at the house. Does anyone know what tools would work best.
