Shimano Wheel Campy setup??

Again in the catagory of stuff I should know and could figure out if I measured, but...

I am running a 10 speed Campy set up and am looking at changing my rear wheel, but the wheel I want comes only with the Shimano hub. Will the Campy system your on a shimano 10 speed hub, or is the spacing differant? (I don't really want to have to track down a compatable freehub and switch back to Campy)

For what it's worth, Another BF member (terrymorse) posted in another thread that he runs campy 10 speed with a shimano 9 rear wheel, and he says it shifts perfectly. Another option is the Jtek shiftmate.....never used it, don't even know if they make it for 10 speed stuff, but if they do, it ought to solve the problem.

The concensus is that Campy 10-speed shifters and derailleurs will work adequately with a Shimano 10-speed cassette even though the spacing isn't identical. J-Tek does make an adapter that should make the shifting nearly perfect.

Well, I may just try it and see how it works, and if not I will see about the j-tek thing

Also, if you're not already aware of it, the Campy cassette you've been using doesn't fit onto Shimano-compatible freehub bodies, so pick up a Shimano cassette to go with that wheel.

And there are also Shimano-to-Campy conversion cassettes which have the Shimano splines but Campy spacing.

But yes, several members have been using Shimano 10s wheels with campy 10s shfiters/derailluers and have reported good results.
