need advice: new cogset and chainring
I'm very new to working on bikes and I'm trying to fix up an old Nishiki International 10-speed. The cogs, chainring, and chain are all worn out, and I need some advice as to what replacement parts would be both affordable and compatible.
The cogset:
I have a Suntour 5-speed that needs replacing, which is on a screwed-on freewheel that takes a 2-prong extractor. After poking around SheldonBrown.com, I came up with these two options: SunTour 13 - 22 Thread-on 5-speed Freewheel(FW515) $39.95 https://harriscyclery.net/itemdetails.cfm?ID=795, or Shimano 14 - 28 Thread-on 5-speed Freewheel (FW520) $19.95. As a beginning cycler, I'll probably just go with the cheaper option. Now, am I confused, or does this seem to imply that to get a new cogset one need purchase a freewheel as well?
The chainring:
I have a Sugino Maxy 3-bolt crankset. This is where I need the most help. I can't even find what size chainring is compatible with these cranks. SheldonBrown.com doesn't even talk about 3-bolt cranksets. Help?
Thanks a lot!

Try asking this on the Classic & Vintage forum. Also try calling Harris Cyclery.
