Not to be a smart aleck but I'd want to know a lot more about the person and their intended use of the bicycle before I could make a recommendation.

+1... are they in good health? Have they ridden before? How tall are they? What do they want to do with the bike? I don't think age alone makes any difference in the type of bike someone might like!

Retro and moxfyre hit the nail on the head. Need more info. Read some of the posts in the 50+section of the forum and you will see that everyone has their favorites and are very different from each other despite our "advanced" years...
