seating tire beads

Does anyone have any tips on how to get a tire seated correctly into a rim? Every once in a while I get a tire that doesnt want to seat right.

Doesn't seat right? If the beads are over the edges of the rim, and the inner tube isn't pinched, it's fine in my book Once you pump the tire up, the tire beads should pretty much arrange themselves correctly at that point...

Or maybe you're talking about some kind of manufacturing defect I can't imagine?

usually you can put soap & water all over the bead & over inflate till it the bead is in the right place all around.
