Campy shifters with a Shift Mate
I have an eight speed setup that has Sora shifters . I like the thumb buttons a lot for the kind of riding I do. I wanted to change shifters on a bike that has bar end shifters controlling a nine speed Ultegra drive train. I wanted to put Centaur shifters on to convert it to indexed shifting. According to Sheldon Brown a ten speed set of Centaur shifters can be used with the nine speed Ultegra cassette and derailleur with the assistance af a Jtek Shift Mate. If it works I'd be glad to do it. Does anyone have any experience with this type of setup? Thanks in advance.

No, I don't have experience, but JTEK makes a variety of shiftmates to convert between various mixes of Shimano and Campy and the rep is that they work well. Just make sure you get the right one.

I have used a Chorus 10sp brifter with a JTek converter and a 9sp Ultegra cassette and it worked fine. It seemed to work better than the Ultegra 9sp brifters --maybe because the back cable has a smaller angle.
JTek will also sell just the pulley cheap so I recently converted to a 10sp Ultegra cassette and it works fine too.

Check my post in the Road Cycling forum from today. I tried it without any special adjustments or gizmos and it mostly worked, and was silent at that.
